Summer weather is almost here and while we may enjoy more sunshine, our small pets feel differently. Rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and other small pets can easily overheat, so it’s important to help them stay cool, hydrated, and comfy when temperatures rise.

🏡 Keep them in well-ventilated, air-conditioned spaces, especially chinchillas, who are extra sensitive to hot weather

🧊 Cool down warmer environments with moist cloth pads or mats, chilled tiles, or frozen water bottles wrapped in lightweight towels

🌡️ Use breathable hides and avoid fleece and plastic hideouts

✨ Provide a water bowl for increased hydration (and extra cuteness!)
