How are the wild bunnies in your neck of the woods? We've spotted quite a few cute cottontails in North Portland the last couple weeks 😍

Fun Fact: Did you know that in North America wild rabbits and domestic rabbits cannot interbreed because of genetic differences?

Even so, if you think you see both in your neighborhood, it is still a good idea to reach out to your local rabbit rescue. Domestic rabbits can still catch various diseases from wild rabbits and are not well-adapted to survive outside.

If you spot a rabbit that looks like a cottontail but aren't quite sure, let someone from a local rescue know. Some agouti-colored domestic rabbits have grey / brown fur that looks very similar to wild cottontails.
