Speaking of photos, if you're in the Portland area, a few spots are still available for the Rabbit Advocates Fall and Winter Photoshoot Fundraiser happening at our shop tomorrow, Saturday October 26th! Bunnies and guinea pigs are welcome.

Your donation will help bunnies in need and you'll get 6 high-resolution photos of your pet(s) (including a couple family portraits) with your choice of fun backdrops and props!

Rabbit Advocates is giving away 1 free photo package...check out their post for more info and enter before 8pm tonight!

If you're not in the area, check out the social pages for your local rescue(s) to see what fun events they have coming up!

Saturday is National Pumpkin Day πŸŽƒ

Did you know pumpkin is safe for most small pets and can be a fun variety treat? Pumpkin can be a healthier treat than many fruits, but like carrots or bell peppers it should be given in moderation due to its sugar content.

We recommend only feeding a small amount of fresh pumpkin at a time (berry sized chunks for bunnies and guinea pigs and half that size for rats, mice, hamsters and gerbils). Some small pets can nibble on the raw, unsalted seeds but we recommend rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas avoid them.

Want to celebrate pumpkin season through the end of the year? For our bunny friends, we recommend Skin, Coat & Molt Herbal Poppers, which doubles as a tasty treat and supplement. We also have Pumpkin Healthy Snackers, which can enjoyed by bunnies, guinea pigs, rats, mice and hamsters.

Have a chinchilla or pet with a sensitive gut? We recommended avoiding pumpkin and offering a safer alternative like the Boredom Breaker Foraging Mix, locally-made with just 4 ingredients: rose petals, cilantro, orchard hay and a little bit of carrot.

Have a picky pet looking for something else? Let us know by replying to this email and we'll help you find the perfect treat or chew for your furry family member!
